I thought before we added our first European adventure blog I would start with my latest trip to Egypt. It’s safe to say that Cairo was a lot more peaceful when I arrived - No major political uproar had started yet thank god! The Bazaar was enough for me!
To put it simply Egypt is a 'must do' it’s a place of historical importance that words can really not describe the whole experience.
I was nervous at first being a lone traveller but that soon came to rest when I met my tour group. I could not have asked for a better group of people, fun and entertaining. Thanks to Caitlin, Jac, Dan, Dean, Dan II and P - you guys were awesome ![]()
I was inducted with a game of M.I.N.E which entailed if you said the word "mine" you we forced to do ten push ups on the spot - what can I say, I believe I did push ups at the pyramids, on a train, in the streets and on a boat to name a few; not to mention where everyone else was forced to comply. Our game was quite normal compared to what sites we saw throughout the tour which included crazy Egyptian driving, bazaar market antics (my personal favourite quotes: "we have what isn't even invented yet" and "100% off" and even a baby goat riding a donkey...no kidding!
The history was absolutely astounding and every sight breathtaking. To see the pyramids, Valley of the Kings (where I had a brush with fame, seeing the Minister of Antiquities; Zahi Hawass), temples, statues, monuments all that are thousands of years old was extremely surreal yet it was only the start... While I was there I thought I would try it all out - scuba diving in the red sea, quad biking into the desert to a nomadic village, sleep on a felucca on the Nile, ride a camel around the pyramids, danced at Hurghadas Ministry of Sound, kissed the sphinx, smoked shisha, learn a card game or two, drank and ate too much, visited museums and the list goes on.

In a nutshell, Egypt was AMAZING! I could carry on forever about the experience and with various stories but I'll stop here because you will have an entire EUROPEAN blog to read soon ![]()
